Brow Lift
Brow ptosis (pronounced “toe-sis”) means drooping of the eyebrow. This alters one's appearance significantly and can convey emotions of sadness. Additionally, peripheral vision can be affected.
Brow ptosis typically occurs with age as structural relationships change from stretching of tissues and loss of volume. In some cases, brow ptosis is due to neurologic diseases such as facial nerve palsy.
Brow ptosis can be corrected surgically. A non-surgical 'chemical brow lift' can also be performed with botulinum and filler. Though there is a variety of different brow lifting techniques, Dr. Mettu primarily offers botulinum brow lifts and minimally invasive brow lifts through an upper blepharoplasty incision. Dr. Mettu performs a careful examination to determine the best form of correction for each patient. The goal is to elevate the eyebrow(s) to achieve symmetry and a natural look.
